Busy busy busy…

It seems like lately every part of my life has been in overdrive.

Work…

At my 9-5 job there’s more problems and reports I have to complete on a daily basis and if one person is out or one system isn’t working properly it throws a monkey wrench into my whole day. Also I must be getting older and turning into my grandfather because people that don’t do their job or do stupid mindless things really are starting to get on my nerves. I know I shouldn’t think this way but, allah forgive me, I wonder on a daily basis how some people manage to find matching socks or make their way to work… yes that is how mindlessly irritating these people are…

My kids… where do I begin…

I am convinced my 5 year old has a daily goal to see if I will yell at her or get upset and raise my blood pressure. She never listens, she started lying about the smallest things knowing that I know the truth… and she never eats! I have been told this is all normal behavior for kids her age but it literally takes 2-3 hours to eat dinner! Lately my husband and I have been spoon feeding her like we do the baby just so she can get in bed on time to rest for school the next morning. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

The baby is doing great, but like most 7 month olds… very needy. He eats like a hobbit! Always happy and playing with things, meeting all his milestones… BUT wants to be next to you when he’s playing, sometimes in your arms! Which becomes difficult when I’m cooking or doing dishes or any other daily tasks I need to complete. He just wants comfort and cuddles all the time, and I try my best to cuddle him and be happy, while using all my energy not to yell at my daughter and scare him because she is in the kitchen again “hungry” for cheese but grabbing chips.

There’s just not enough hours in the day to do all that needs to get done, and I feel so drained by the end if the day. Laundry is still in the basket unfolded from sunday’s load, dishes and bottles and cooking are all done on a daily basis but all that takes time away from my kids. The baby is too little to help and sometimes the 5 year old says she’s a big girl and wants to help and we do everything together… which I ๐Ÿ˜… but most of the time she wants to sit at the table or other random part of the house “coloring and drawing”… which miraculously always ends up on her hands and face.

Alby Habibi…

My baby blanket supplier fell thru ๐Ÿ˜ž. So I am going to attempt to make them myself. Website and other miscellaneous costs are not feasible in my budget so I’ve been looking into other methods of selling…

Stay tuned!…

  1. Assalaamu alaykoum Sis, I’m not a Mom but I’ve observed that usually when parents are stressed and frustrated then it translates onto the child and they start to act up as well. So maybe if you try and relax and engage in interesting activities with her then your daughter will calm down also.
It’s super important especially for a girl to have a strong and loving bond with her mum, and not to grow up feeling frustrated and to know that she was the cause for her mum’s frustration.
I’m saying this because I remember as a 5 year old I was highly aware of my mum’s behaviour especially towards me and it has left its print on me now that I’m a young adult. Children are very intelligent despite their babyish ways. Try and speak with her like she’s your closest friend and she understands because it’s very likely that she does understand you but feels a lack of attention. ๐Ÿ™‚ โค

    1. Wa alaikum assalam sis, things have gotten a little better since my original post. I try to set time aside for just her 30-60 minutes during the work week, and on the weekends we try to have just mommy/daughter time. But her eating habits unfortunately have not changed. But you are right… she knows when I am stressed and I do try my best not to take it out on her, and if I do I try my best to make up for it.
